I like the solution offered by Tony Holbrook above. Christopher Willits, who teaches the Intro to Digital Audio class, has a similar setup via wiki on his website. The class is outlined at the top and linked to sections below. I think this is the best way to manage the information. I don't have to print anything out on paper and I don't have to save it to my computer because I know it will be available for reference anytime.

PDFs are great. Unfortunately, BAVC has had an outdated version of handouts for 2 classes I've taken. I'd love it if BAVC would set up a wiki for all the classes. Instructors can make updates to their own courses. BAVC can send instructions to students about how to use wikis. Some formatting to make printer-friendly versions available would be helpful, too.

I don't think it's such a great risk to publish course info. A huge part of why I take class instead of teaching myself (by book) is because I learn more from being able to ask questions of an instructor and from seeing what other students do with exercises.

Please, please, please consider putting all the course info to a wiki.

HARVEY MILK STATUE SET TO BE UNVEILED ON THURSDAY MAY 22, 2008, 6-9 PM at SF City Hall

San Francisco, California, April 10, 2008, – The statue of San Francisco's first Gay Supervisor Harvey Milk will be unveiled during a gala party at San Francisco's City Hall on Thursday, May 22, 2008.

The project to place the memorial to Milk in City Hall is a joint undertaking between the Harvey Milk City Hall Memorial Committee and the San Francisco Arts Commission. It is the first such public/private partnership of its kind. The effort began in 2003 when the Board of Supervisors passed a resolution supporting the creation of such a Memorial to Milk.

Harvey Milk advanced the struggle for LGBT rights by becoming one of the first openly Gay elected officials in the United States, winning a seat on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in 1977. Less than a year after taking office he was assassinated by a homophobic political opponent. The unveiling of this Memorial, in the very building where he served and lost his life, will again make history; it will be the first such tribute to an LGBT leader to be placed in a seat of government in the United States.

The statue of Milk will be unveiled at a Ceremony to be held in City Hall on May 22, 2008, on what would have been Harvey's 78th birthday. The event starts at 6 PM, is free and open to the public, and will feature friends of Milk’s, local dignitaries, the Gay Men’s chorus, and special gu

Well, it would be better if the PDF files were created correctly.

Imagine shooting on film, and then doing the transfer to digital by using a hand-held DV camera to take a picture of the film being projected. You might lose something along the way, don't you think.

The PDF files that I got in the mail are handouts, originally created on a computer, printed out, and then scanned back in to make PDF files. PDF files made this way don't work well... it's a lossy process in many ways; not only are they big and look bad, they don't reflow, are hard to search.
